Exploring Waberer’s Advanced Headquarters in Budapest

During a recent visit, Wim Blomme, Strategic Advisor, and Jan Coene, President & CEO, had the opportunity to visit the Headquarters of Waberer’s in Budapest, Hungary.

Waberer’s is one of Europe’s leading international full truckload freight forwarders in the segment served by own fleets, and the market leader in Hungary in domestic transport of goods and complex logistics services.

This visit carries significant importance as ICTS and Waberer’s have fostered a long-standing partnership. Through a robust Service Level Agreement (SLA) contract, ICTS has been providing breakdown services for Waberer’s across Europe.

As Mr Blomme and Mr Coene passed through the main gate, they were instantly captivated by the remarkable technological advancements in place at Waberer’s. The company is diligent in ensuring the efficiency and safety of its fleet, actively monitoring air pressure and tire wear on all their trucks and trailers.

When trucks and trailers check in at the facility, every detail is meticulously scanned, photographed, or filmed, and then compared to previous check-out records. Any damages are promptly addressed in-house, guaranteeing that Waberer’s fleet remains in top condition. Before embarking on their next journey, the vehicles undergo a thorough wash, adding that final touch of excellence.

During the visit, Tibor Dudola, Senior Project Engineer at Waberer’s, offered invaluable insights into the various projects that have led to the creation of this impressive facility, which boasts 84 fully equipped workspaces at a single location. The leadership team is composed of three dedicated colleagues: one workshop manager and two foremen, each overseeing a different shift.

Such outstanding achievements are a testament to Waberer’s commitment to high automation standards, starting right on the factory floor. The company has integrated automation into every facet of its operations, from managing spare parts and equipment to implementing barcode systems, streamlining planning processes, optimizing the supply chain, and cultivating a culture of continuous improvement. At Waberer’s, the pursuit of excellence is relentless, as they firmly believe in the philosophy that there is always room for improvement.

In an impressive display of efficiency, our partner Waberer’s manages to conduct 60 MOTs daily at their headquarters using just two bays, while here at ICTS, we are gearing up to reach our 2024 milestone target of 10,010 MOTs across our three shops in Uithoorn, Ghent, and Zeebrugge. Both feats underline our collective commitment to operational excellence within the industry, showcased perfectly by the orderly and well-equipped conditions of the Truck Shop at Waberer’s.
